As We Step Into December

As we step into December, let’s be mindful of the increased hustle and bustle. It is a most anticipated time of year. For some, the anticipation is joy, parties and activity. For some, the anticipation is anxiety, withdrawal and isolation. For the latter, this is specifically for you.

Sometimes there is no giddy anticipation of the holidays. Sometimes there isn’t a flurry of holiday activity. Sometimes there aren’t any presents under the tree. Sometimes the holidays find you more alone than you care to be. You keep telling yourself “it’s not supposed to be this way.” And maybe it’s not.

Yet, while questions may remain and prayers may seemingly go unanswered, I know Immanuel – God with Us is ever true. And a behind the scenes work is going on. Rest in that.

I can’t make the “it’s not supposed to be this way” go away for you or for me. But I can cling to Immanuel. And you can too.
